In this time refyne has grown into the leading end-to-end software platform for the timber and metal construction industry through a focused buy-and-build strategy
Over LEA’s holding period revenue has more than doubled and the user base grew to over 25,000
Karlsruhe / Frankfurt am Main, 14 July 2026 – LEA Partners (“LEA”), a leading investor in DACH based software and services businesses, today announces that it has sold refyne to VisualLogix, a portfolio company of Insight Partners.
Headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, refyne combines leading software and AI-enabled solutions for the timber and metal construction industry into an end-to-end platform that covers the entire process of manufacturing businesses – from sales and quotation through design and engineering to production and invoicing.
Since June 2023, LEA has built refyne into a leading software platform for the timber and metal construction industry, consistently executing its strategy of investing in market-leading software companies with a high share of recurring revenue. Starting from a highly fragmented software landscape in the timber and metal construction industry, five established specialists came together to form refyne through a focused buy-and-build strategy and continued to scale under the leadership of Dr. Stefan Gutberlet as CEO. Core initiatives included building a central group management team, establishing the unified refyne brand, accelerating cloud migration and driving international sales. Over LEA’s holding period, refyne more than doubled its revenue and evolved from individual specialists into one of the industry’s leading software groups – with more than 150 employees and over 25,000 users worldwide.
Dr. Stefan Gutberlet, CEO of refyne: “Over the past few years, our team has turned independent specialists into a single platform and made refyne a brand our industry trusts – LEA believed in that vision from day one and backed it as a true entrepreneurial partner. In VisualLogix and Insight Partners we've found the right home to scale our end‑to‑end approach internationally, with the same commitment to our customers.”
Jan Huber, Principal at LEA Partners: “refyne has created a platform that fundamentally simplifies the workflows of an entire industry – precisely our investment focus: vertical software providers with deep industry expertise and clear market leadership. We greatly enjoyed working with Stefan and the entire refyne team – we wish them every success in their international growth chapter with VisualLogix and Insight Partners.”
The transaction represents the first exit from the Mittelstandspartner II/II-A funds.
