LEA Partners supports merger of LANDWEHR and BackOffice to become one of the largest software providers for the temporary staffing industry in Europe

Merger enables significant acceleration of growth as part of a comprehensive buy and build strategy

Karlsruhe, October 07, 2020 – Technology investor LEA Partners ("LEA") enables the merger of LANDWEHR with the Swiss BackOffice AG to become one of the largest software providers for the temporary staffing industry in Europe with more than 350 employees and over 3,500 customers. BackOffice, based in Basel/Switzerland, has become one of the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers for the temporary staffing industry in Switzerland since its foundation in 1987.

Benjamin Leuzinger, Managing Director of BackOffice:
“With the merger, we now have the opportunity to offer a comprehensive and integrated software solution in which the entire process of a temporary staffing provider is highly automated and dynamically mapped, from applicant management to payroll and accounting. Our whole team is excited about this deal and we are curious how the Swiss market will react to this combined expertise.”

Marc Linkert, Managing Director of LANDWEHR:
“For LANDWEHR this step marks an enormous gain and we are looking forward to make our products available to the Swiss market. This will significantly accelerate the growth of BackOffice and offer exciting perspectives for all customers and employees.”

Philipp Hertel, Partner at LEA:
“Our investment in LANDWEHR in April 2019 was based on our clear strategy of investing in software companies with a strong market position, recurring revenues and multiple value enhancement potentials. Following the acquisition of rhb Software in November 2019 and the merger with prosoft in July 2020, the merger with BackOffice now represents the logical next step within this strategy.”
